Full of Daring belongs to XU ZHEN®’s series of collage “Spread”, which consists in a combination of various cultural imagery gleaned from the Internet. While traditional tapestries narrate epic scenes, this series features representations of historical events, portraits of political figures, mythological and religious scenes as selected from cartoon and comics from around the world with ideological connotations. The artist intersperses cartoon characters with slogans, presenting a montage of consciousness through collage.
