Yang Yang (b.1989, Dunhuang, Gansu province, China) lives and works in Beijing. He graduated in 2019 from the Performance Oil Painting Studio of the Capital Normal University with a master degree. Yang’s practice reflects on the technique, motif and representation of abstract expressionism based on a contemporary and panoramic perception. His paintings incorporates elements of ancient religious, expressionist and graffiti art, emphasizing painting’s proccesive nature, which leads to the unsubstitutability of time within. Natural landscapes, art history and personal experience delicately intertwine in the name of time, where the volume and depths of Yang’s work manifest.

Yang Yang’s works have been exhibited both in China and abroad, including: “Edge”, Aurora Museum, Shanghai, 2023; “Yang Yang: Manifestation”, MadeIn Gallery, Shanghai, 2023; Guangzhou Contemporary Art Fair (Solo Project), Guangzhou, China, 2021; “Chinese Spirit: The 4th Chinese Oil Painting Exhibition”, National Art Museum of China, Beijing, 2018; “China-Russia Young Artists Exhibition”, St. Petersburg New Museum of Contemporary Art, Russia, 2017; “Los Angeles Contemporary Art Special Invitational Exhibition”, Los Angeles, USA, 2017; “Artist in Art San Diego”, San Diego, USA, 2017; “Sentimental Feelings”, UACC, Beijing, 2016; “Xi Cheng Dong Research on Sino-French Contemporary Art Exchange Exhibition”, Tianmi Art Space, Shenzhen, 2015, among others.
